The University of Sonora (abbreviated as UNISON) is located in the state of Sonora, Mexico. Sonora has quickly established itself as one of the Mexican's leading seats of learning. It was founded in 1942 after a committee to create a state university was formed on August 10, 1938.

Reputation

  • UNISON is one of the most accredited public universities in the country.
  • According to CENEVAL, Sonora has recently ranked 5th in the Mexican university ranking survey.
  • Six post-graduate subjects accredited in the level of academic excellence for the "Mexican Research Council in Science and Technology" (Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología de México, ).
